Gaseous - An Experimental Card & RTS Game
Artist Statement:
Gaseous is an experimental game that combines elements of card games and RTS (real-time strategy) gameplay. Players control a flagship as it travels through levels, using cards to summon fleets and complete encounters or missions. Along the way, they can strengthen their flagship and customize their playstyle.
The game retains the randomness and deck-building of card games with the resource management and battlefield control of RTS. This approach simplifies RTS gameplay while offering strategic depth through deck-building mechanics.
The development team consists of Yen, who leads as developer, game mechanic designer, and producer, and Tony, who serves as the artist and handles numerical design. Currently, we’re refining encounters and are in the prototyping phase, with development in Unreal Engine.

- Basic flagship movement and construction functions

- Basic battlefield content - simple troop AI, strategic points and conflicts
Features under development:
- More complete flagship and flagship structure
- Text proofreading - Use more reasonable vocabulary and grammar
- Better battlefield - Optimized troop AI and more intuitive strategic points
- More cores and decks
Planned developments:
- Art Asset Reset - Replaces temporarily used art assets
- UX optimization and known bug fixes
Other Features (Just in the Design File for Now):
- A roguelike gameplay that allows players to strengthen their flagship between levels.
- Missions and plot (like FTL)
- Optimize the visual performance of the game (considering replacing 2D assets with 3D)
